Girdwood Fine Arts Camp will be in its 32nd season this summer and registration is opens in spring for this highly anticipated annual program.
The Arts Camp invites professional artists each year and pairs them with groups of 10 children. The program begins with directed drawing techniques and has two guest art instructors (two different projects per session). At the end of our second week, there will be an evening art show with the students works displayed.
Arts Camp will be held this year from July 30th to August 3rd and August 6th to 10th, Monday through Friday. Participants may sign up for one week or two. The Camp serves primary children ages 5 – 9 years and intermediate kids ages 9 – 17 years old. For the primary age program there is a choice of morning or afternoon sessions 10AM to Noon or 1 – 3 PM. (The program is the same in both sessions). The intermediate session runs from 1-5PM.
The Arts Camp team of co directors this year includes Jimmy Riordan (former Arts Camper and now co director for many years), Tommy Salami O’Malley (cofounder of the Arts Camp), Carrie McLain (in her third year as director) and Amber Molen (in her second year as our new primary director). Arts Camp is also happy to welcome back Ruth Kircher as the veteran primary all around assistant.
The Girdwood Fine Arts Camp continues to partner with Challenge Alaska which provides their building with its fantastic light, a variety of work spaces and a magnificent natural setting that inspires creativity.

The Fine Arts Camp sessions are limited to 20 students for each of the primary sessions and 20 for the intermediate session. The Girdwood Fine Arts Camp has enjoyed full enrollment for the past 30+ years. Sign up early and join us for our 32nd season.
